The weather lately hasn’t been the best for car events. Regardless, the weather was supposed to be clear for the morning, so I headed up north to Market Street to join this month’s gathering for Cars and Coffee for a Cause hosted by The Woodlands Car Club. You could tell it rained much earlier in the morning, but besides cloudy skies, it was clear for now.
I work up early with the thought of bringing out my ride to this month’s event, which I ended up not doing. I arrived at the venue early and decided to get a jump start on my coverage. Market Street wasn’t completely packed with rides just yet, but much more were still arriving. I walked around the shopping center capturing photos of the rides that were already here and the others as they arrived.
After an hour or so into the event, the rain did make an appearance which caused a few cars owners to head out early, but a majority of the spectators and other car owners stuck around longer. I continued to walk around snapping photos and did a few trips back and forth to snag a few extra shots once I was done getting a photo of each ride. This went on for another hour or so before I finally ended my coverage as my batteries were running low. Yep, I forgot to charge them and already swapped them out to get a bit of extra juice to make it last. It did the trick as I was able to get most of the photos I wanted and stay for the majority of the event.
March wrapped up the first quarter charitable collection which went towards Court Appointed Special Advocates of Montgomery County (CASA). Each quarter, The Woodlands Car Clubs works with a different organization in order to help raise money to go towards their cause. It’s a great way to give back to the community while enjoying some of the amazing vehicles that come out each month. The event is free, but a donation is asked for all cars that are put on display, and spectators are free to contribute as well. Cars and Coffee for a Cause is held monthly on the first Sunday from 7 am till 11 am. See you at the next one!
