Wrapping up the year, The Woodlands Car Club hosted their December gathering a little latter than usual. For the first time that I have seen, their first Sunday of every month event was postponed to the second Sunday for this month. Usually the meet goes on it’s regularly scheduled day regardless of weather but this time it was a bit different. Like always, the event also makes a collection of donations that goes towards the quarter’s recipient, which this quarter goes to the Will Herdon Research Fund (HOPE). With the forecast of bad weather for the whole weekend, and this month’s event also hosting a toy drive for the Montgomery County Youth Services, it was rescheduled for the second Sunday instead. Double whammy of collections, hence the reason to postpone the event with hopes of a larger turnout and better weather.
As the second Sunday of the month approached, the weather forecast was looking much better, but still not completely clear skies. The event continued as scheduled and I made my way there as soon as I was ready… after waking up a bit late. I still made it on time to snag a parking in the front row with the other rides on display. There were plenty of rides out here, but Market Street wasn’t completely packed as it usually is when there’s better weather. The light rain that occurred moments before the event’s starting time seemed to run some people off from making the trip out here. For majority of the event, it was pretty clear but there was a brief session of light rain and came and left during the event.
I walked around to snap photos of each ride, once I was done I made a few trips back and forth down Market Street. I wanted to take a few more photos of different angles of the rides that grabbed my attention. I loved how some of the rides had that wet from the recent shower, they make for great photos…. or at least I think so. A few late arrivals showed up so of course I grabbed a photo or two of their rides. I stuck around for a while before heading back home, besides the rain it was another great event. The Woodlands Car Clubs’ Cars and Coffee for a Cause will return in February, see you then!
