Having a longer than usual break from work with the holiday weekend, I was anxious to hit up some car meets over the weekend. I didn’t attend as many as I wanted to but with it being the first weekend of the month, I headed to Market Street to check out the monthly Cars and Coffee for a Cause gatherings hosted by The Woodlands Car Club. The previous month had some rain so I missed out on June’s gathering, which I saw photos later and more people that I would of thought made it out there regardless of the rain.
My plans were all out of whack this weekend, I wanted to get up early to wash my ride but ended up crashing the day before. I then stayed up late into the Sunday morning, I figured I would just hold out for a few more hours to start washing my car, that didn’t happen. I doze off and woke up late for the meet. As soon as I finally woke up, I grabbed my gear and made my way to Market Street. I parked my ride in the back area and walked to the center where the cars would be on display, majority of the spots were already filled by the time I arrive with a few rides already leaving. I was about an hour and a half late, so some of these rides could of been here for a while. It was also a fairly hot morning, it didn’t take long to break a sweat walking around out here. Staying in the shade with an occasional breeze made it much more enjoying out here while admiring the various cars on display.
I started walking around snapping photos as usual, but this time I tried to work as quickly as possible with a few breaks into the shade to keep cool, and not let my camera get too hot either. After completing my rounds through all the rides, I went back a few times for a few additional snaps before ending my coverage here. I had plans for a shoot a little later after the event so I left early to have breakfast before that. It was a good turnout and people enjoyed walking around checking out the rides even in the heat.
This is always a great event to attend, which a good cause. The event is free is attended, but to put your ride on display a donation is asked before entering the area, any amount is good. This quarter’s charitable recipient is FAITH Fighting Cancer in Montgomery County which is a completely volunteer run group with a mission to provide emotional and/or financial support for cancer patients and families.
