For Houston Coffee & Cars last event of the year, the weather wasn’t expecting to be the greatest for an outdoor event. Since it was a toy drive as well, it was rescheduled causing scheduling conflict for myself. For their first meet of the New Year, weather was much better and I was able to return to Vintage Park and attend this month’s massive gathering.
I was off to a late start, I woke later than I expected, but as soon as I woke up I was off to the meet. Actually I woke up right at starting time, but as many of us know people start arriving way before 8am. I arrive there with most of the lot parked, I had some trouble actually finding a parking spot even in the back of the shopping center.
As always, there’s an overwhelming amount of nice rides to be found here. I started to make my usual rounds, but since I showed up later than I usually do, the line of cars was starting. I made my way to the center too take pictures of the rides as they were leaving.
Whatever type of rides you like, there is sure to be some of them out here. Lots of groups come out together, and make their exit together. With has many that come out to Vintage Park, many people like to save spots for their fellow car enthusiasts. This was the first month that the HCC staff was actually trying to enforce the no saving spots. Spots are first come first serve bias, so if you want to park as a collective, it’s best to meet nearby and roll in together.
Houston Coffee & Cars gathering takes place every month on the first Saturday of the month, on the northwest part of Houston off 249 and Louetta. The hours are from 8am to 10am, but many show up before that time. This meet is one of Houston’s finest, there’s always something special out here to see.
