Houston Ride ‘n Shine June 2016

Friday night, I spent some time trying to get my ride prepped for the Houston Ride ‘N Shine meet that would follow in the morning. I ended up rushing a bit of it, which doesn’t look all that great up close but from afar, it’s alright.  I had set my alarm to go off early so I could make it in time to park in the display area… or so I thought.

I woke up around 6:30am, and then I realized I was supposed to be up an hour earlier, so I checked my alarm. With it being a late night, I guess I marked the alarm for the wrong day. I rushed to get ready and rinsed off the Veloster, it wasn’t completely dirty and didn’t have a lot of time for a full wash.  Thankfully the new segments of the Grand Parkway were open, so I was able to hop on that and fly down to the Cinco Ranch area. I pulled up to the entrance where I was greeted in. I made it in on time!

I then proceeded to wipe down my car to remove the bugs and dirt that I picked up on the way. I finished just in time as it was the official starting time of the event. I grabbed my camera and began walking around, at first chatting with some friends while waiting for others to finish parking or cleaning their rides. I usually start on the import side, which I did this time as well. I took a few breaks in between groups and tried to stay in the shade as the Texas heat was definitely in attendance. I am not looking forward to the next few months as those will rise.

I continued through the center of the plaza and made my way to the domestic side to complete my coverage, I tried to get every ride before they started leaving which some left early I’m sure due to the heat.  After that, I went back around to snap a few more photos of my favorite rides, and then back to the front center where the specialty rides are placed. GTR Bros puts on these monthly events for all enthusiast of all ages to come out and enjoy. Make sure to check them out on the third Saturday of each month in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.
