Saturday morning on March 10, I decided to check out a car meet that’s been on my radar for some time. I have missed the past events due to being out of town or a few other reasons including bad weather for February’s meet. This month’s forecast was a bit better with chances of light rain, but once I woke up that morning, it appeared the weather would be clear for the meet.
The day before, I actually washed my Veloster just because it’s been a while and the pollen needed to be washed off. I woke up earlier that morning so I ended up doing some work before I grabbed my camera and made the drive to the Boardwalk Towne Lake for the Towne Lake Cars & Coffee; Cars on the Lake meet. I was hoping to arrive early as this would be my first time attending and didn’t know what to expect, but work took a bit longer than I expected and I ended up arriving right at the meet’s starting time. Once I pulled into the lot, I was told where to park which is where most of the other import cars where. The parking lot still had plenty of spots open but I headed over to the “import” section and wiped down my car as it managed to get dirty from the drive and whatever it collected overnight.
Once I was done, I grabbed my camera and started taking a photo of each ride. I started with the section I parked in and move my way towards the entrance to the lot. The turnout was ok and more cars arrived as the morning progressed, but it never reached full capacity. I continued my way around the lot as more cars arrive trying to snag a photo of each. I ended up spending some time with a fellow photographer and friend that made it out. He wasn’t taking pictures but just out enjoying the morning with friends around cars. I stayed out here for the complete duration of the meet and headed out shortly after ending time.
The meet started last May and has been going on monthly since then. The next one is April 14 if you are interested in checking it out.
